Hector Plimmer - Infinity Mirrors (Album)

Hector Plimmer’s Infinity Mirrors: A Reflective Journey Through Sound

South London’s own Hector Plimmer returns with Infinity Mirrors, a deeply personal, genre-spanning album that blurs the lines between jazz, electronic, soul and experimental textures. Known for his work as a producer, drummer, DJ, and visual artist, Plimmer brings together an impressive cast of collaborators—including Laura Misch, Andrew Ashong, Julia Biel, Tawiah, and Alexa Harley—on a project that meditates on identity, time, and transformation.

The album arrives on his own label, Power in Comfort, and follows his Duality EP, but its roots stretch much further back. Written and reworked over five years—through the chaos of the pandemic, moments of birth and loss, and the shifts of everyday life—Infinity Mirrors is less a snapshot and more a living document of change. “With each new revision I have learnt something else about my creative practice,” Hector reflects, “and brought my current self into the music, whilst maintaining where I’ve been previously.”

One of the standout moments is Fight or Flight featuring long-time collaborator Alexa Harley. The track explores the internal tug-of-war between creativity and anxiety. Alexa’s vocals float between vulnerability and strength, weaving through a beat that’s both playful and ominous—a sonic embodiment of mental unrest. “As most creative people are, I’m an over thinker,” she shares. “I worry a lot and have the occasional panic attack.” The result is a cathartic, resonant piece for anyone familiar with that struggle.

From the introspective softness of Senan’s Song and Gentle Things, to the head-nodding grooves of New Knew and Into Harmony, the album never sits still. It’s a world in flux, much like the lives it reflects.

Plimmer’s reputation for pushing boundaries extends far beyond the studio. He’s worked with the London Symphony Orchestra, Ego Ella May, and the late Matt Gordon, and was even handpicked by Grace Jones to reprise an AI-focused live show at her long-awaited Meltdown Festival.

Infinity Mirrors isn’t just an album—it’s a conversation with time, sound, and self.
