Aminé - 13 Months of Sunshine (Album)

Aminé Taps Into His Roots with New Album 13 Months of Sunshine.

Aminé is back with 13 Months of Sunshine, his third solo studio album and arguably his most personal work to date. Following his 2020 release Limbo, and recent collaborative efforts like TWOPOINTFIVE and KAYTRAMINÉ with KAYTRANADA, this new project finds the Portland rapper refining his genre-blending sound—melding rap with electronic, pop, and indie influences.

The title pays homage to his Ethiopian heritage, referencing both the region’s unique 13-month calendar and a 60s-era tourism campaign that celebrated the country’s richness beyond stereotypes. “There’s so much more than what everyone assumes about my music—myself included,” Aminé shared. Guided by conversations with his family, especially his father, the album explores identity, legacy, and self-perception through tightly crafted storytelling.

Executive produced by Dahi (Kendrick Lamar, SZA), the 16-track project includes the standout singles “Arc de Triomphe,” “Vacay,” and “Familiar.” Collaborations with artists like Waxahatchee and Toro y Moi add unexpected texture to an already diverse sonic palette.

Beyond the studio, Aminé’s been staying busy—designing sneakers with New Balance, building relationships in high fashion, and launching his own Portland-based festival, The Best Day Ever. He’s also hosting two sold-out album release parties in NYC and LA.

Stream 13 Months of Sunshine now, and keep an eye out—Aminé’s not slowing down anytime soon.
