Lyves - Out of the Blue (EP)

Lyves Returns with Her Most Soul-Baring Work Yet: Out of the Blue.

London-based alternative R&B artist Lyves emerges from a period of deep transformation with Out of the Blue — a luminous new EP that charts her journey through healing, motherhood, and self-reclamation. Where past work was shaped by longing, these new songs feel like exhalations — still, tender, and quietly fierce.

Written during a pivotal life chapter that included the birth of her son, Out of the Blue is a personal love letter to growth and resilience. Each track is steeped in emotional clarity, navigating themes like mental health, identity, and the rediscovery of inner strength. Sonically, the EP weaves together cinematic soul, ethereal folk, and ambient R&B into a sound that feels both expansive and intimate.

From the lullaby-like Kaleidoscope, written while pregnant, to For Eden, a gentle meditation on mental health and advocacy, Lyves creates space for vulnerability and grace. Polaris and Powder Blue round out the collection with poetic reflections on love, trust, and clarity.

Co-produced by Lyves with a cast of gifted collaborators including SamTRax (SiR, Brent Faiyaz) and Sam Crowe (Little Simz, Cleo Sol), and engineered by top-tier talent behind Fred again.. and Loyle Carner, this is Lyves’ most cohesive and courageous work to date.

Speaking about the project, she says: “These songs were born out of stillness... a rediscovery of who I am, and a quiet reminder of our strength.” It’s a sentiment that echoes throughout the EP — Out of the Blue doesn’t just tell a story of healing; it feels like one.
