VIB - Lassani (Official Video)

VIB Returns with “Lassani” – A Love Letter to Sri Lankan Culture and South Asian Women.

When music comes from the heart, it doesn’t just sound good—it resonates. And that’s exactly what British-Sri Lankan artist VIB has done with his latest release, Lassani. A radiant celebration of South Asian identity, the track blends Tamil and Singhalese drums, a touch of Afrobeats, and sultry RnB melodies to deliver something that feels as powerful as it is personal.

At its core, Lassani is a tribute—to Sri Lankan beauty, to South Asian women, and to a culture that’s often underrepresented in mainstream music. “This track is genuinely for more representation and ownership of brown beauty,” VIB says. “A lot of brown girls, especially Sri Lankan, don’t have a lot of music dedicated to them or them being the main theme.”

The journey began with a simple idea—a spark that VIB shared with his producer. What came back was more than a beat; it was a rich, emotive rhythm built on traditional Sri Lankan percussion. “I knew I had to do it justice,” he admits. It was a moment of vulnerability, but also of creative trust. Once in the studio, everything fell into place, and the result is a song that pulses with pride and infectious energy.

At just 23, VIB is a force to be reckoned with. From radio plays and interviews on BBC Asian Network and BBC London to founding his own charity (Vib Save Children), publishing poetry, and balancing it all while finishing medical school—he’s a walking example of artistry with purpose. Currently on his medical elective in Sri Lanka, the timing of Lassani couldn’t feel more aligned.

More than just a track, Lassani is a moment. A groove that celebrates identity, uplifts underrepresented voices, and invites everyone to dance while they reflect. And with the official music video dropping May 9th—expect stunning visuals that dive deep into the textures, colours, and stories of Sri Lankan heritage.

For VIB, this is more than music. It’s a movement—where rhythm meets representation.
