Brooke Candy - Block (Single)

LA based queen of the underground music scene and fashion innovator, Brooke Candy, announces details of her new album ‘CANDYLAND’, US tour and reveals a video for single ‘Block’.

Brooke’s upcoming album will be released in two parts, ‘CANDYLAND: Vol. 1’ out July 25th and Vol. 2 following later this year. It is the highly anticipated follow up to 2019’s acclaimed debut album ‘Sexorcism’.  Brooke spent the past two years writing and recording tracks for this two-part pop odyssey. The album takes you on a journey into Brooke’s world and is a sultry, throbbing candy-coloured homage to pop and dance.

Brooke adds “CANDYLAND has been a labour of love. I’ve given everything I have- mind, body, soul- to this two-part record. Along the way I came close to quitting and giving up on music. At times it felt impossible to finish the record and get to a place I was happy with - I’ve never been so possessed with trying to get everything so perfect. The devil is in the details. It is a beautiful fantasy land for all the menaces in society. With this album I tried to give a taste of each individual facet of my brain. There’s a song for everyone and I tried to give as much sonic and artist feature variety as possible. It’s slutty but not crass. It’s hard, but still soft & femme. It’s candy-coated pop.”

The single ‘Block’ was written with friend and longtime collaborator Charli XCX, 100 Gecs producer Dylan Brady, and A. G. Cook. The hyper surreal video was directed by Kyle England and produced in partnership with Dieux Skin.   Brooke says “‘Block’ is a cute little girly pop anthem. It came into my life when I was feeling like a fairy and it goes out to all my girlies who love to channel their inner child by listening to cute happy, music.”  ‘Block’ is the third single to be released from the album; and the first two singles ‘Safe Word’ and ‘Pills’ have been streamed over 1 million times since their release.

Brooke embarks on a US tour which kicks off in Santa Cruz, California on September 28th and will arrive in the UK/Europe later this year.  This will be the first-time fans will get to see the Brooke Candy live experience since 2020’s European Sexorcism tour.

The queen is well and truly back!
